Sharp Movin Kris Wins the Saddleback Stakes

Sharp Movin Kris, with Martin Pedroza aboard, won the $26,750-added Saddleback Stakes Monday on the closing night of the Orange County Fair Racing series at Los Alamitos Race Course in front of 9,074 spectators.

Sharp Movin Kris laid back most of the race and passed favorite Inca Connection, who led to the top of the home stretch. Sharp Movin Kris paid $6.60, $3.80 and $2.60. Second place John’s Beau, with Corey Black up, paid $7.80 and $2.80, and third place Fancy Sauce paid $2.40.

The 1986 O.C. Fair meeting drew a 13-day total of 100,159 (daily average 7,704). The mark surpasses last year’s fall total of 78,387 (daily average 6,030). This is the first time since 1980 the meeting has been offered in the summer.
