Coroner’s Final Report on Rogers
Don Rogers, the former UCLA and Cleveland Browns’ football star who died of a cocaine overdose June 27, had a healthy heart with no signs of long-term drug use, the Sacramento County coroner’s office said Monday.
Deputy Coroner Donna O’Ray-King said that the final report in the case made no change in the conclusion of investigators that the 23-year-old defensive back was killed by cocaine, adding that investigators still do not know how Rogers ingested the drug.
Police announced the completion of their investigation July 11 without determining who supplied the cocaine and whether Rogers took it at a bachelor party the night before he died or in his mother’s home the morning shortly before his death.
