Torrance : Cleanup Fees Doubled

Operators of pumpkin and Christmas tree lots will have to pay twice as much in cleanup deposits and provide more parking under amendments to the municipal code approved by the City Council this week.

Operators will have to pay a $500 deposit for pumpkin lots and $1,000 for tree lots. One parking space for every 1,500 square feet of display space on lots will also have to be provided. The deadline for cleaning up tree lots has been extended from Jan. 5 to Jan. 15. The cleanup deadline for pumpkin lots remains Nov. 10.
