Baldwin Park : Work to Begin on Complex
Construction is expected to begin next month on a $32-million retail complex and 10-story hotel at the Puente-Merced redevelopment site, according to John Hemer, city director of Housing and Economic Development.
The long-awaited project, located north of the San Bernardino Freeway at Puente and Merced avenues, is expected to generate annual revenues of $1 million to be shared by the city and the Redevelopment Agency, Hemer said.
When completed, the 17-acre site will house three restaurants, 35 shops, 1,165 parking stalls and a 200-room Hilton Hotel, he said.
