Strings Come Unstrung Again; San Antonio Wins
The unbeaten San Antonio Raquets jumped out to an early lead and hung on to defeat the Los Angeles Strings, 25-22, in a TeamTennis match Monday night at the Forum.
The Strings (3-8), trailing 11-3, rallied to tie the score at 22 when Eliot Teltscher and Steve Meister took a 4-3 lead over Kim Warwick and Ben Testerman in the men’s doubles. But Warwick and Testerman then won three straight games, rallying twice from scores of 40-0 to take the set, 6-4, and give San Antonio (11-0) the match.
