CAMP SIGHTS
Tyler Dritz, 8, starts the morning with helmet in hand at the Dallas Cowboys’ summer training camp on the campus of Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. At the field, he peels off and lets the big guys turn upside down in an effort to impress a coach during warm-ups. Later, the players work out in a vast open gym set up just beyond a chain-link fence that allows the public to gawk and take pictures. Once practice picks up, groups of fans sun themselves in the bleachers for hours, watching pass patterns and blocking drills. At the end of the afternoon, as clouds gather overhead, players head for the showers, a night of game films--and dreams of the coming season.
