The body of a hospital chaplain who had been missing since a weekend boating accident on Lake Havasu was found several miles downstream from the lake. The body of William D. Shelly, 34, was found on the California side of the Colorado River, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Bryant said. The river flows along the California-Arizona border and feeds Lake Havasu, about 230 miles east of Los Angeles. Shelly had been missing since Saturday, when he fell out of a speedboat as it turned sharply to pick up a water skier. Shelly, a Redlands resident, was the senior pastor at the Yucaipa Seventh-day Adventist Church for three years before becoming a chaplain at Loma Linda University Medical Center in June, 1985.
