A gas station attendant was struck on the head from behind as he opened the station for business early Saturday morning, then was handcuffed to a pipe in a back room by two men who took $329 in cash and fled in the victim’s new car, police said.
Young Jin Kim, 36, of Cypress, was treated for a slight head wound suffered shortly after 6 a.m. at a Texaco station in the 13400 block of Euclid Avenue in Garden Grove, Police Lt. Larry Hodges said. The stolen vehicle is a 1986 red Nissan Sentra.
Despite the handcuffs, Kim managed to free his hand and telephone for help, Hodges said.
