Aman suspected of wounding another man with a shotgun blast at the parking lot of a Van Nuys supermarket Friday night was arrested after a standoff with a SWAT team, Los Angeles police said.

The suspect, Paul Wright, 31, had fled to his camper, which was parked at a Ralphs market on Woodman Avenue, after shooting Vincent Gandara, 30, of Van Nuys, Police Sgt. John Jergensen said.

The SWAT team arrived at 10 p.m. and an hour later resorted to tear gas to force Wright to surrender, Jergensen said. Police confiscated a shotgun when they took Wright into custody.
