Actor-race driver Paul Newman has sued two men for allegedly damaging his reputation and causing him emotional distress by engaging in illegal drug trafficking and racketeering while leasing race track space from him.

Newman claims in his Monterey County suit that Mark Pivec and Randolph C. Barsotti also failed to pay rent on the office building and garage they sub-leased at Laguna Seca race track in 1983. The property belongs to Newman Racing Corp.

In the suit, Newman said the two men “engaged in unlawful activities including but not limited to dealing in illegal narcotics,” as well as “at least two acts of racketeering activity.”
