Suspect Faces Trial in Mt. Wilson Fire
A suspect in a July 29 fire that burned 110 acres in the Angeles National Forest near Mt. Wilson has been ordered to stand trial for felony arson. His preliminary hearing was held on Tuesday before Glendale Municipal Court Judge J. D. Smith,
David McCarthy, 32, whose last known address was Portland, Ore., will be arraigned Sept. 3 in Pasadena Superior Court. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison.
At the time of the fire, McCarthy was camped at Valley Forge Campground, about five minutes away from where the fire started, officials said.
