Car Driver Pinned, Killed: A tractor-trailer truck struck a Chevrolet Corvette, killing the driver of the car by pinning him beneath it, police reported Thursday. Lt. Walter Wedemeyer said Charles Maynor, 35, of Mission Viejo was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday. The officer said Maynor was driving east on Edinger Avenue when the truck, turning left, pulled out from Del Amo Avenue and struck Maynor’s Corvette. The driver of the truck, Kenneth Anderson, 47, of La Verne, was not injured and was not cited, Wedemeyer said.
