Ex-Philippine Envoy Arrested

ROME —
A former Philippine ambassador to the Vatican, Bienvenido Tantoco, and five other Philippine citizens were arrested today on arms trafficking charges, police sources said.
The sources said anti-terrorist police found an arsenal of light and heavy arms in the diplomatic residence on the Appia Antica where Tantoco, a close associate of ousted President Ferdinand E. Marcos, still lived.
