Two earthquakes jolted northern Iran on Monday, Iran’s official news agency reported, but it said there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

One of the quakes, with an intensity of 4.2 on the Richter scale, shook the town of Oshnoviyeh, 20 miles southeast of the point where the borders of Iran, Turkey and Iraq meet, the news agency said in a dispatch monitored in Nicosia.

The second quake, registering 3.6 on the Richter scale, shook the region around the town of Neyshabur, 435 miles east of Tehran, the news agency said.
