Paramount : New Study Session Time
The City Council, which previously held morning study sessions in addition to its regular monthly council meetings, has changed the day and hour of the study meetings to allow more public participation.
The sessions, formerly held at 7 a.m. every third Wednesday, will now be at 5 p.m. every third Thursday.
The morning sessions originally started as informational meetings, but the council legally could and did occasionally vote on matters during those meetings, said Councilman Charles R. Weldon.
“I’ve always felt that if we were making decisions that affected the public, as much of the public as possible should be there. This was not possible with the early morning meetings,” Weldon said.
The regular council sessions are held the first Tuesday of the month.
