Missing Boa Back in Custody
A San Diego Zoo employee cleaning a picnic area near the children’s zoo Saturday morning discovered one of two rosy boa constrictors missing from the children’s compound for about 10 days.
Kathryn Duke, a maintenance worker, spotted the small chocolate brown and gray snake near the fence under a bush in the picnic area.
Startled and frightened, she called another zoo employee, Ed Hamilton, who recognized the snake as one which had escaped or was stolen from a children’s zoo exhibit. Another rosy boa and two Jackson’s chameleons were discovered missing from the same children’s zoo exhibit about 10 days ago.
