Donnie Duncan, a former University of Oklahoma assistant coach who currently is executive director of the Gator Bowl, was named as the Sooners’ athletic director.

Duncan was chosen by the university’s board of regents on a 4-3 vote.

Duncan was given a five-year contract with an annual salary of $75,000, plus $10,000 a year in expenses.
