Arlington Park owners received a $65-million insurance settlement after last summer’s fire that gutted the race track, a report filed with the Illinois Racing Board says.
The settlement includes a provision requiring that a new track be bought or under construction by the end of next July. Otherwise, the owners must refund $5 million to the insurance company.
The $65 million was a property damage settlement. Arlington Park also received $10 million in business interruption insurance.
