West Hollywood : Rent Control Personnel Change
In two moves affecting the city’s rent control administration, acting City Rent Stabilization Director Richard Dorsey Muller has been appointed to run the city’s rent control department and Rent Stabilization Commissioner Gerda Spiegler has resigned.
Muller, who had previously served as senior hearing examiner for the rent department, became acting director in June when former rent department director Adam Moos submitted his resignation.
The department administers the city’s rent control law.
Spiegler, who has served on the city’s five-member rent commission for more than a year, cited personal reasons for her departure. Spiegler was nominated for the post by Mayor Stephen Schulte, who must find a replacement.
The commission is the final city arbiter in disputes between landlords and tenants.
