INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Indians of baseball’s Triple-A American Assn. and the Montreal Expos have renewed their working agreement for the 1987 season, a joint announcement from the two clubs said.
“The entire Expo organization is extremely pleased to be returning to Indianapolis for the 1987 season,” said Bob Gebhard, director of affiliated clubs for the National League team.
“The Indians’ management, facilities and their fans have been very good to us. Indianapolis is an important part of our player-development program,” Gebhard added.
Indianapolis first became affiliated with the Expos in 1984, when the Indians finished first in the Double-A’s one-division format.
