2 Women Kidnap Saleslady, Steal $513 and Auto
Police were searching Friday for two women who kidnaped a 22-year-old Beverly Center saleswoman at gunpoint in the center’s parking structure and forced her to drive around town for three hours before taking her car and $513 and letting her go.
The suspects forced their way into the victim’s BMW Thursday afternoon and threatened her with a small handgun, demanding $1,700 to pay a hospital bill, reported Wilshire Division Police Lt. Robert Kimball.
Despite the victim’s pleas, the two women forced her to drive around Hollywood, Laurel Canyon and the Los Angeles International Airport areas before releasing her unharmed in Hawthorne, Kimball said. Along the way, the victim was forced to stop at a Crenshaw area check-cashing firm to obtain cash.
