Forward Ken Barlow, a first-round pick acquired by Atlanta in a draft day deal, signed a contract to play basketball this season with Milan in the Italian league.
Atlanta had sought to trade the former Notre Dame player, who came to the Hawks along with Mike McGee in a deal that sent Billy Thompson of Louisville and a second-round choice to the Lakers.
The 6-foot 10-inch Barlow joins Bob McAdoo as the two Americans allowed on the Milan team.
