Local News in Brief : Crash Critically Hurts Burbank Motorcyclist
A 22-year-old Burbank man was critically injured late Tuesday when a motorcycle he was driving collided with a car pulling into a driveway in Van Nuys, Los Angeles police said.
The motorcyclist, Charles Edward Hyatt, was traveling south on Dempsey Avenue near Victory Boulevard about 10 p.m. when he struck the car, which was turning left into a residential driveway, police said.
Hyatt, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center. A hospital spokesman said Wednesday that he was in critical condition with severe head injuries.
