Barberry Spur held off a challenge by Amity Chef down the stretch to win the rain-delayed Little Brown Jug in straight heats at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Delaware, Ohio.
Barberry Spur, driven by Bill O’Donnell, fell behind briefly as Laughs took the early lead. But O’Donnell drove into the lead just before the first quarter pole and held on to guide the Niatross colt to his 12th victory in 20 starts this year. The winning purse was $150,841.60.
