Defensive back James Bell of the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League has “a significant spinal cord injury” and is partly paralyzed, a spinal surgeon treating him said in Vancouver, Canada.
Bell was rushed to the hospital Friday night after making a tackle in the Eskimos’ 32-3 victory over the British Columbia Lions.
Bell, 27, from the University of New Mexico, is in his second season with Edmonton.
