Bass Hits 40th Homer in Japanese League Win

TOKYO — Randy Bass’ two-run home run in the ninth inning gave the Hanshin Tigers a 4-2 win over the Yakult Swallows Sunday in a Japanese League game. It was Bass’ 40th home run of the season.
In another game, former minor leaguer Leon Lee singled home the winning run in the ninth inning as the Lotte Orions beat the Nippon Ham Fighters, 4-3.
