Season’s First Rain Causes Power Outages
A storm that dropped the first rain of fall on the Los Angeles area Tuesday briefly knocked out power to about 4,800 homes in Los Angeles, including areas in Canoga Park, Reseda and Sunland, the Department of Water and Power said.
About 800 homes in both Canoga Park and Reseda and 50 in Sunland lost power between 5 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. as winds brushed against power lines, knocking some of them down, DWP spokesman Ted Freudenburg said.
Homes in Highland Park and Hollywood also lost power, he said.
