The 14 American League baseball owners voted to reject the transfer of ownership of the Texas Rangers to a broadcasting company, said Dr. Bobby Brown, league president.
The owners, meeting in Newport Beach, also voted to adopt a rule stating that no television company could purchase a major league baseball team in the future.
