Ted Higuera pitched his 20th victory Thursday night as the Milwaukee Brewers gave retiring Manager George Bamberger a win in his last game by routing the Baltimore Orioles, 9-3, at Milwaukee.

The Brewers will name an interim manager today.

Higuera (20-10), who scattered eight hits and struck out three, joined the Dodgers’ Fernando Valenzuela as the only Mexicans to win 20 games in a season in the majors.

The defeat dropped the Orioles into last place in the American League East.

Milwaukee had 15 hits, including three each by Bill Schroeder and Robin Yount, who hit his eighth homer.
