Segura Earns Decision Over Puente

Francisco Segura of Coachella rallied to outpoint Greg Puente of Alhambra Thursday night in a 10-round junior lightweight bout on the Irvine Marriott Hotel’s monthly boxing card.
The fighters waged a battle in the middle of the ring from the opening bell and never let up. Puente kept landing hooks to the body, while Segura was busy connecting with combinations on Puente’s head.
However, neither fighter was ever in serious trouble.
Segura was behind after seven rounds, but won the final three rounds to win a majority decision.
Segura improved his record to 10-1. Puente is 7-1-4.
