The state Department of Health Services has issued a warning against eating two kinds of ducks from Suisun Bay because of excessive levels of selenium contamination. The state completed an analysis of Suisun Bay ducks in early September and found that eating scoters and scaups would present a health risk. The potential hazard to humans is limited because the ducks are not generally hunted for food, a state Department of Fish and Game supervisor said. The source of the selenium was not known.
