Terry Morris set a school single-game pass completion record by hitting 25 of 34 for 255 yards Saturday to lead Miami of Ohio to a 34-14 victory over Ohio University in a Mid-American Conference game at Athens, Ohio.
Tom Graham, who carried 18 times for 89 yards, scored on runs of 3, 2 and 1 yard for the Redskins (4-0, 3-0). The loss dropped Ohio to 0-5, 0-3.
Morris broke Steve Sanna’s record of 23 completions against Purdue in 1974. Morris passed seven yards for a touchdown to tailback Chris Thomas, who was playing for the injured George Swarn. Swarn, the MAC’s all-time leading rusher, was in the game for only one play due to a strained hamstring.
Cincinnati 24, Louisville 17--Junior safety John Lewis recovered a bad punt snap for a touchdown and set up another score with one of his two pass interceptions as the Bearcats (3-2) beat the Cardinals in a nonconference game at Cincinnati.
It was the ninth consecutive road loss for Louisville (2-3).
