Palace Music Wins Koester Handicap; Delahoussaye Rides Four Winners

Palace Music came from last place in a prolonged stretch drive to score a neck victory in the $82,300 Col. F.W. Koester Handicap Saturday in Oak Tree’s meeting at Santa Anita.
Ridden by Gary Stevens, Palace Music ran the mile on the infield turf course in 1:35 to break the course record of 1:35 3/5 set by Pettrax last April.
Palace Music, coupled with Ice Hot, returned $4.40, $2.40 and $2.10; Skywalker, moved up to second from third when Mangaki was dropped a notch, paid $3.00 and $2.20, and Mangaki paid $2.20 to show.
Jockey Eddie Delahoussaye rode four winners--Inherent Kal ($22.20 to win) in the first race, Sown ($7.20) in the second, Shahaab ($4.60) in the fifth and Fantasy Cat ($7.60) in the sixth. Delahoussaye also rode three second-place finishers--Universal Malii in the third, Skywalker in the Koester Handicap and Silver Hero in the ninth.
