A 60-year-old Woodland Hills woman was killed Saturday when her car, which had stopped on the paved shoulder of a Pearblossom street, was struck from behind.

Dorothy Detgen was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occured about 7:30 p.m. at Pearblossom Highway and 150th Street East, said California Highway Patrol officer Carla Bittner. A passenger in Detgen’s car, Joyce Hammar, 60, of Los Angeles, received minor injuries.

The women were stopped at the side of the roadway for unknown reasons, when a car driven by Lawrence A. Jost, 30, of Lancaster, drifted from the traffic lanes and crashed into their vehicle, the CHP spokeswoman said. Jost, who was not cited, also received minor injuries in the accident, Bittner said. Both he and Hammar were treated at Palmdale Hospital Medical Center.
