A wrong-way driver smashed his car head-on into another car on Interstate 5 in western Kings County, killing himself and three Mountain View residents in the second car, the California Highway Patrol reported. The wrong-way motorist, heading south in a northbound lane, struck the other vehicle near Avenal, officers said. The wrong-way car then flipped over and was struck by another vehicle. The coroner’s office identified the three Mountain View victims as the driver, Alfredo Oseguera Elisondo, 31; his wife, Eloisa, and his brother, Albaro Oseguera, about 19. The wrong-way driver has not been identified. A child in the Elisondo vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries.
