Four women were sentenced by a municipal judge to five days in Yolo County jail after they refused to agree to probation for staging an animal rights protest at a University of California, Davis, primate lab. The women, all Sacramento residents, were convicted of having blocked entry to buildings where animal research experiments are performed. They are Shila Laracy, Doris Kight, Lavonne Bishop and Linda Scheive.
