A suspect in the March 29 stabbing death of an Oceanside man was arrested Wednesday night, Oceanside police reported.
Thomas Joseph Ambrozy, described as a 19-year-old Navy deserter from Detroit, was arrested at Mission Avenue and Canyon Drive in Oceanside around midnight by Officer Gene Marquardt, who based the arrest on a description circulated by the Police Department.
Ambrozy was booked into the County Jail in Vista on suspicion of murder in the death of Ronald Becker, 32, a newspaper distributor.
Becker’s body was found in the den of his condominium in the 4200 block of La Casita Way in Oceanside three or four days after his death, according to Oceanside police spokesman Bill Krunglevich.
Police said it was a call from the Los Angeles Times inquiring about Becker’s whereabouts when he didn’t show up for work that prompted officers to go to his home.
