Who Loves You, Baby? Marcus Allen? Al Davis Says It Makes No Difference

Share

For the Raiders, it was the best of times and the worst of times. Marcus Allen returned to action, twisted his right ankle late in the game, came out and stayed out.

He wasn’t happy about staying out and seemed to hold owner Al Davis responsible.

“Thanks for taking me out of the game,” Allen said to Davis, as Allen walked out a dressing room door.

“Who took you out?” Davis yelled after him.

Allen was gone by then.

“I don’t know what he was talking about,” Davis said. “He has a lot of pride. He wants to play.”

Allen reportedly returned about 10 minutes later and put his arms around Davis.

“Did you see that?” Davis asked. “He put his arms around me and said, ‘I love you.’

“I’m worried about whether he loves me,” Davis said sarcastically. “I just want to win.”
