Cincinnati Bengal running back Bill Johnson, who suffered a neck injury and was taken from the field on a stretcher in the Bengals’ 24-22 victory Monday night over the Pittsburgh Steelers, isn’t expected to miss any playing time.
Johnson, in his second NFL season, caught a 10-yard pass from quarterback Boomer Esiason and was doubled forward in a sitting position by several tacklers with 48 seconds left in the first half.
Doctors examined him on the ground for several minutes before he was taken from the field. X-rays later revealed no fracture.
