The Los Angeles Raiders filed a $26-million suit against Oakland, alleging that the football team lost that amount in a six-year battle with the city after moving to Southern California. The Superior Court suit, filed in Salinas, contends that uncertainty caused by Oakland’s lawsuit attempting to reverse the move caused several financial setbacks, including preventing the franchise from building luxury boxes at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The suit alleges that $3 million of that amount was lost because the boxes were not available for the 1984 Summer Olympics. The Raiders this summer won an eminent domain suit filed against the team by Oakland.
