Sugar Ray Leonard signed a proposed agreement for a fight with world middleweight champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler, and the agreement is in the hands of Hagler, Hagler’s co-managers--Pat and Goody Petronelli--and their attorneys.

Under the proposal, the fight would be for no more than 12 rounds. The bout, which was sanctioned Friday night by the World Boxing Council, will probably be held the first week of April at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
