Traveling in Style

I just finished reading the super issue of Traveling in Style in today’s L.A. Times. Maholo nui to Jerry Hulse for the beautiful article on “Hana, a Sentimental Journey.” It was just that for us. I was about to call Jerry chicken--flying in instead of driving. I’m so happy he gave in to the “nagging need” to rent a car and drive that spectacular and challenging Hana Road once again, and that he found it awesome and in much better condition than years past.

My husband and I spent the first four months of 1986 in Heavenly Hana. He was privileged to serve, as interim pastor, at the historic Wananalua Church. We fell in love all over again (we were there in 1982) with the friendly people, the way of life, the beauty that God has showered on that spot. Part of us remains there. RENA D. SMITH Laguna Hills
