“A Tribute to Bob Marley.” Sony. $29.95. The use of Marley’s name in the title and his picture on the package is misleading, to put it politely. The hour of straight concert footage is divided between the mediocre Steel Pulse and the more interesting Black Uhuru, but it’s all directed with yawning indifference. There are no Marley songs, no shots of Marley, no information on what he has to do with any of this. Though shot at Jamaica’s Reggae Sunsplash Festival, which is supposed to be a special occasion, this performance could just as easily be a tour stop in Des Moines.
