Two minor earthquakes rattled Southern California’s San Jacinto Mountains and were felt by a few people in nearby Palm Springs, officials said. The first temblor measured 3.1 on the Richter scale and was centered 18 miles west-southwest of Palm Springs, while the second quake had a magnitude of 3.2 and was centered 19 miles west of Palm Springs, a spokesman for Caltech in Pasadena said.
