A 43-year-old Spring Valley woman apparently was strangled Tuesday by a postal worker who later committed suicide in the bedroom of the mobile home they shared, according to a Sheriff’s Department spokesman.

About 3 p.m., sheriff’s deputies from the Lemon Grove station arrived at a mobile home in the 10700 block of Jamacha Boulevard in Spring Valley and found the body of Wendy Favry Banks, 43, who had been strangled, the spokesman said. Nearby was the body of 37-year-old Ronald Thomas Hutson, who had suffered a fatal self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head, the spokesman said.

Homicide investigators are seeking a motive for the slaying and suicide.
