Santa Monica : Street Name Contest Open
Santa Monica Municipal Airport is conducting a contest to name a two-mile road the airport is planning to construct around its runway in December.
Entries, which are due by 5 p.m. Nov. 20, must be submitted on an entry blank or letter-sized paper and must include a 50- to 100-word explanation of the suggested name. There is a limit of three entries per person. There are two categories: one for school children and one for the public.
Entry blanks are available at Santa Monica branch libraries and at the airport administration office. Entries should be mailed to: Contest, Airport Administration Office, 3200 Airport Ave., Santa Monica 90405.
