Freeway Crash Kills Driver in Acton Area
A 23-year-old Mammoth Lakes man died Thursday when his station wagon went off the Antelope Valley Freeway in Acton and he was thrown from the car, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The man, Sean O’Shea, was southbound about 60 m.p.h. on the freeway near Santiago Road at about 1:15 p.m. when his car drifted into another lane, Officer Carla Bittner said.
O’Shea tried to return to his lane but steered over an embankment, flipping the car and dropping 30 feet, Bittner said.
O’Shea died at the scene, she said.
