WASHINGTON — An oil painting of three redhead ducks in flight has won an annual U.S. stamp design competition.
A non-government panel of five wildlife art and bird experts on Wednesday selected the work, painted by Arthur G. Anderson of Onalaska, Wis., from among 799 entries.
The rendering of two drakes and a hen flying over a river marsh will grace the 1987-88 migratory bird hunting stamp that the Fish and Wildlife Service will issue in July.
