Southern Section Water Polo : El Dorado Beats Servite to Advance

Mike Tillman scored six goals Thursday to lead El Dorado High School to a 17-2 victory over Servite in a 3-A Southern Section first round water polo match at Placentia.
Mike MacLear and Steve Froning each scored three goals for the Golden Hawks.
El Dorado (22-4), the No. 1-seeded team in 3-A, advances to Saturday’s second round against Glendale.
In other 3-A matches:
Downey 10, Irvine 9--The Vikings edged Irvine, a wild-card entry, at Downey. The Vikings will play Los Alamitos Saturday.
El Toro 7, Mira Costa 4--In a mild upset, the Chargers, the No. 3 entry from the South Coast League beat the Mustangs, the Ocean League champion, at Manhattan Beach. El Toro plays Indio Saturday.
Los Alamitos 7, John W. North 6--The Griffins advanced by edging North at Riverside.
Hacienda Heights Wilson 17, Kennedy 8--The No. 4-seeded Wildcats routed the Irish in a match at Wilson.
San Clemente 13, Rowland 1--The No. 3-seeded Tritons won at San Clemente.
