Is There More to Spike Than Meets the Eye?

Jim Murray and Vin Scully are considered tops in their field of endeavor. But throughout the World Series, neither at any time made mention of the given name of the Boston shortstop. It was always Spike Owen. I feel quite certain that Spike has been blessed with a Christian name.
